The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

Ms. Pastore's fifth grade students just finished reading the classic C.S.Lewis tale The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I think this story has endured over the years because it is so rich in themes and has an exciting plot. I love books that get you thinking and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe does just that! One of the interesting dynamics in the story is the relationship between Edmund and his siblings.

If Edmund were your brother would you be able to forgive him for trusting the White Witch? Even after Aslan is killed? Click on "Comments" below to share your thoughts and read what others think....

Happy Reading!

Yes I would be able to forgive Edmund. I would because that was not his falt in the first place that the white witch tricked him. And Aslan does come back to life because the deep magic.

I would be able to forgive Edmund even after Aslan was killed because seriously, you can't stay mad at someone that close to you forever. Besides, after the witch tried to murder him, you'd think that he'd have learned his lesson, so you would have to cut the guy some slack!

I would be able to forgive Edmund because after all he is my brother! (If he were my brother) He didn't mean to I mean the White Witch did trick him and made him think that she was right. And Aslan did come back to life later so there really is no reason to stay mad at him. And at the end of the book Edmund does the right thing by killing the White
Witch. - Susie

I agree with both Erin and Mara about everything they said. I agree with Erin about Aslan coming back to life and Mara about him being related to you.

I woudn't have be able to forgive him. He chose the White Witch's side even though he knew she was evil. All he wanted from the white witch was turkish delight and because she gave him some one time he chose her side.

I think I would be able to forgive Edmund for trusting the Witch. Although it is pretty stupid to be fooled over Turkish Delight, he's my brother and he ,at the time, didn't know what kind of person the White Witch was.

Yes, I would be able to forgive Edmund. He really went onto the White Witch's side because she gave him Turkishdelight. He was lured onto her side by magic, he couldn't stop that.

I think I would forgive Edmund because everyone makes mistakes. Imagine if you made a big mistake, and your brother or sister didn't forgive you,how would that make you feel?
